Sablier streams tokens. A sender locks a deposit in a stream and it vests to the recipient second by second, evenly after a cliff, along a curve, in monthly tranches, or all at once when a price is reached, and the recipient withdraws what has vested whenever they like. Teams pay contributors with it, DAOs vest grants, projects lock token allocations, and every stream is an NFT the recipient holds.

What a stream pays is fixed and public; when it gets paid out is not. Vested tokens sit in the stream until someone withdraws them. A grant that unlocked a tranche at midnight earns nothing until it is claimed, and a token allocation that vests every second is only worth something to its holder once it is out and working.

Every step of a stream is a step in a plug: withdrawing what has vested to the wallet or the Plug account, withdrawing everything and handing the stream to a new recipient, canceling or renouncing a stream you send, and creating new linear streams by duration or by date, with the amounts each step reports flowing into the next.

A weekly sweep that withdraws a vesting stream and swaps it into a stablecoin. A tranche claimed the second it unlocks and deposited into a vault. A payroll that streams next month's salary on the first of every month.

The recipients who get the most out of a stream are not the ones who remember to check it. Their streams pay out on their own.
