Defi · Dex

Aerodrome is the liquidity hub of Base: a MetaDEX that pairs Solidly style stable and volatile pools with Slipstream, its concentrated liquidity engine, and directs emissions to the pools its voters back.

That makes it the venue where most of Base's depth actually sits. Stable pools quote near parity assets on a curve built for them, volatile pools carry the long tail of pairs, and Slipstream concentrates capital around the live price the way Uniswap V3 does, keyed by tick spacing instead of fee tier. The fee a pool charges is governance state that can move, and the pool that is deepest for a pair changes with the epoch's emissions.

For anyone executing size on Base, that depth only matters if the route finds it at the block the trade fires, against the reserves and ticks that exist in that block. Which Aerodrome pool is best for a pair and a size is a question that has to be re-asked every time it matters.

A plug that swaps prices every Aerodrome pool into the route it solves, so the trade crosses Aerodrome exactly when its pools are the best market for that pair and that size, and settles through the router surface each pool kind needs. The trigger is whatever condition the plug watches: a price line, a balance arriving, a position elsewhere crossing a threshold.

Slipstream positions run the same way. Minting a range, adding to it, taking liquidity out, and collecting what it has earned are steps a plug takes when its condition is met, and the position's tokens, liquidity, and pool are readings the next step can decide on. A range that walks out of the money at night is pulled or re-entered by rule rather than by whoever happens to be awake.

A swap that fires at your price and settles through the deepest Aerodrome liquidity in that block. Size moved on Base without babysitting the venue choice.
