BasePaint is a daily ritual on Base: one shared canvas a day, painted pixel by pixel by hundreds of artists, then sealed and minted as that day's piece, with proceeds flowing back to the people who painted it. It has turned over every single day since it launched, which makes it less a collection than a public clock.

The cadence is the whole design. A canvas is open for a day, then it is art. The mint for each finished day is open for one day more, at a fixed price, and then it closes forever. There is no team deciding when to drop and no allowlist to game: the contract turns over at the same moment every day whether anyone is ready or not.

That is also the problem. The mint you meant to catch closed while you were at dinner. The day the canvas turned out extraordinary is the day everyone else noticed too, and by the time you saw it on the timeline the only way in was secondary. A daily ritual is beautiful right up until it collides with a life that does not run on contract time.

In a plug, the day's mint becomes a standing instruction instead of a reminder: minting runs when the window opens rather than when a person remembers, gated by whatever conditions matter, a balance to spend from, a price to respect, a schedule to keep. The ritual keeps its cadence; the human stops being the weak link in it.
