The bonus is decoded from the reserve configuration and returned in basis points above par, so 500 means a liquidator receives collateral worth 5% more than the debt repaid. Reach for it when weighing collateral choices, since a higher bonus is a larger haircut if a position is ever liquidated, or in a liquidation strategy to compute the expected profit of repaying a borrower's debt before committing capital in the same transaction.
